Sharpness and lifespan are the two important indicators to judge the overall performance of diamond segment. Formula of the diamond segment make a big difference in its sharpness and lifespan. Different formula have different parameter for diamond powder and metal bond. We design the diamond segment to achieve our ideal sharpness and lifespan.
Generally speaking, cutting segment of lower density of diamond powder will show poor anti-wear capability and short lifespan.while, the density of the diamond powder depends on the inlay strength of the metal bond towards the diamond powder, also the quality of the diamond powder. Diamond segment of low-concentration diamond powder will show lower density of diamond powder, then poor anti-wear capability and short lifespan. Low vertical density of diamond powder of diamond segment, indicates less layer of diamond powder,then short lifespan of diamond segment. The vertical density of diamond powder depends on the grit and concentration of the diamond powder. Higher the concentration of diamond powder is, higher the vertical density of the diamond powder in the working layer is, more the layer of the diamond powder is in the diamond segment. Also, finer the grit of the diamond powder is , more the layer of the diamond powder is, then diamond segment show high anti-wear capability.
As a conclusion, the lifespan of the segment is inseparable from the sharpness and anti-wear capability of the diamond segment. More anti-wear, less sharpness.
