In quarry opening, line speed of diamond wire saw will reduce as the cutting area and the hardness of the stone material grows. For hard stone material and great cutting areas, low line speed should be set.
For cutting soft marble, line speed 38-40m/s is suggested.
For mining soft granite, line speed 24-30m/s is suggested.
For mining hard granite, line speed 22-33m/s is suggested.
The most proper line speed should be determined after test and analysis of the material cutting.
For stone material squaring and slab cutting, line speed of diamond wire saw should be determined according to the stone type, length of the block and etc. Generally speaking, for granite cutting, line speed should be set at 24-28m/s, while for marble cutting, 30-34m/s.
Stone harder, block longer, the line speed should be lower. If line speed too high, the wire saw will dull; while, line speed too low, the wire saw will go oval or conic.
