1. Not sharp enough, but lifespan satisfying

metal bond not matching with the cutting material,

too high concentration of the diamond powder,

too much fine-grained diamond

2. Sharp enough, but short lifespan

This is most commonly-seen during the usage of diamond segment.

Main reason maybe as follows:

Low strength of the diamond powder, especially for the rough-grained diamond powder

Too less fine-grained diamond powder. Improve the strength of the fine-grained diamond powder is wiser, compared with improve the quantity of fine-grained diamond powder, taking sharpness into account.

Too less metal bond

Too high temperature in the hot pressing process.

Too low density of the diamond segment, so diamond powder fall off easily

3. Upper part of the diamond segment work good, but lower part not good, easily consume up.

Easy consumption of the lower part can be attributed to the usage of poor-quality silver soldering piece. Bad silver soldering piece, so welding period too long and temperature too high for the diamond segment. The lower part of the diamond segment seriously heated, metal bond and diamond powder therein suffer heavy oxidation. High-quality silver soldering piece can make a great difference.

In this case, we can determine that the diamond segment is not sharp enough. the seemingly good sharpness in the first several hours is the impact effect of the irregular placement of the diamond segment during its welding to the saw blank.
