1, Flamed surface:
Decorative finish. Some stones can’t be flamed, because flaming doesn’t create a nice look. Flaming can remove some impurities and components with low melting point on stone surface, and produces coarse finish with “pricked” effect. To prevent stones from breaking up in the flaming process, they should be at least 2CM thick. Some stones may change colors in the flaming process, rust stone (G682) may turn light red to some extent. Flamed stones are coarse and can’t reflect light. Easy to make and with low price, they are used as exterior wall cladding.
2, Bush-hammered surface:
Bush-hammered surface is finished by hammering stone surface to produce coarse “lychee skin” effect. Bush-hammered stones are often seen on carved product surface or plaza stones. Bush-hammering can be done by machine and hand. Hand-hammered surface looks finer than machine-hammered surface, but it is more time-consuming.
BUSH HAMMER ROLLER, Bush Hammer Plate, Bush Hammer Grinding Disc are mainly used for flaming operation.
3, Chiseled surface:
Chiseled surface is achieved by hammering stone surface with a cross-shaped hammer to produce coarse “longan skin” surface. It is one of the most common surface finish techniques for carved granite products. Like lychee surface, chiseled surface is done by machine and hand.
